OUTFIT / Halloween what?

top / DIY
pants / Giordano
boots / Ann Demeulemeester
hardware accessories / DIY

It's Halloween again! I do love me some horror and gore but i don't know I admit that I am not much of a Halloween fan. I adore the entertainment I guess but I don't really see the core of it.  I have turned down several Halloween parties back in the Philippines. (i miss my crazy friends!) but here I've got no choice but to attend parties because it's a small town and you know, why not? That's why I was laughing my heart out when I've watched the halloween episode of "Fresh off the Boat" about Jessica not wanting to participate the festivities of the ghouls and monsters because she , being a fan of Stephen King ( like me ughh) , is more inclined to the deep-to-the-marrow- kind of horror. The sort of chill that will leave you frozen and dead inside. Think : "THE SHINING" AND "IT". And hallow's eve or not , I serve myself some Stephen King as much as I can these days. Hell, I would walk to the library just to binge read 4-5 Stephen King books and if I've got time , I'd watch the movie version ( although they don't give justice that much).

In regards to fashion, I have always drawn to the darkness as interpreted by Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garcons and now Vetements. They're the kind of designers who opened my eyes to new grounds of beauty and forms. I don't know why? It would've been easier if I had  been a fan of Marc Jacobs, Jeremy Scott or Michael Kors but I love me some darkness. I've got a happy childhood by the way but I just love embracing the odd, the unloved , the night.

So yeah, apparently I am about to take some nap to recharge my body for tonights Halloween party with friends. I couldn't believe I had to drag my partner Larrend to the party DIY shop this morning for some last minute costume shopping of merchandises made in China. I was gonna dress up as Storm but why dress up glam when you can reveal your dark self. LOL. I reckon there'll be thousands of Harlequinns and Kylie Jenner zombies tonight anyway so I think I'm happy with my drag+ s&m + gas mask + mad scientist costume. Whatever!

OUTFIT / Shadow in Spring

sneaker boots / Guidomaggi

Nothing special. Just an ordinary day. Out from work.
Although, I am wearing a really nice pair from Guidomaggi. I've talked about this on my last post. It is just so comfortable and they have used the most supple nappa leather to make it. I should say when it comes to leather goods, nothing beats the Italians. Yes, I've worn them the whole day and my feet arent complaining.

OUTFIT / Silky smooth

Neoprene sweater / Ninthsheep
skinny pants / COS
shoes / JC

I think Neoprene is the most functional and practical fabric of them all. First, it doesn't become wrinkly after laundry. No more ironing or steaming which saves you time and electricity. Another thing is how they never soak when you get sweaty and yucky. You know how it feels when you are wearing your backpack or it's just so hot and warm like your skin has turned into Sahara. I was wearing a cotton shirt once at work at the beginning of summer and it doesn't took me long enough to realize how wet the shirt has become. Never again. That's why aside from neoprene looking so fresh and mint and just smart looking, I think they are definitely a staple textile.

SHOES / & Other Stories + Derby for days

They're the perfect block derby shoes. The smoothest box leather. and they're from &otherstories . My favorite store since 2011!

RUNWAY / Rick Owens SS 2017

Yes! the drama is back! I'll never forget the early mid-collections of  2009-2012. There's an air of divinity and deity with all the perpetual draping and dresses that cover the neck down to the shoes. Rick could pass as a romantic geologist. Culling his inspirations from explorations in caves and mountains. It was like Rick Owens sculpted  the dresses out of igneous rocks however the hardness is turned into a feathery compound. Why is everything so good? Everytime I see his collection or remembers , I would imagine grabbing my blanket and just wear it the #owens way. But it's not enough. Anyhow, don't you just love seeing Asian models in Rick Owens? I mean , omg!

OUTFIT / Sculpt+shape

 sculpted sweater / Ninthsheep
skinny / Comme des Garcons
shoes /  leather wedge

happy Monday! I still have a sweater withdrawal but let me tell you how hot it is here in Australia right now.

OUTFIT / Black & Wide

Time for some changes. And by changes I mean wide changes. Opposite the dramatic width of my trousers is the skinny scarf that I bought. It's not meant to be an armada for tough winds and all that. I could say that it is just a perfect accessory when a random breeze comes waltzing through your way and you've got no Beyonce hair but you've got a really long scarf which is fine anyway and you just enjoy how it dances and convulse in the air like it's got a life of its own. Such a gay scarf. Then you start feeling tough and stylish because you're wearing a nice cute skinny scarf and other people don't. Accessories. That's why it's either I use them or not but when I use them , I really enjoy the moment.
