BEAUTY / Science + Skincare

I think i can call these my new trusted and favorite skincare ever! I work in a beauty pharmacy and I must say that Hylamide is owning it: packaging, innovation, ingredients.  I am quite excited that they have a vitamin C serum because after  I have tried Paula's Choice, I felt that Vitamin C serums are as important as munching a mandarin everyday. I have used it for 10 months and it would be reasonable to conclude that I have noticed that my skin is brighter and finer. It's not celebrity-photoshopped flawless fine but it is a better version of my irregular and textured facial skin. I love love this brand and you should too!!!

//Hylamide Molecular Booster ( pink)
 OMG! It was my first time to use a product that is loaded with hyaluronic acid. it's so hydrating and light and thirst-quenching to the skin. I used it heaps during the peak of winter and I usually wear it under make up and how it makes my skin softer is just an understatement. It's like a glycerin gel serum and it smells like a chemical I've used in my Chemistry experiment back in Highschool. It does smell like a raw glycerin! I love it!

//Hylamide Pore Delete ( green)
 If you despise , abhor, hate your crater of a pores then this is a must. It's a bit tricky to use because it can distrub how the foundation is sitting on your skin. You can either use it alone which is so great or if you are going to use it with make up on like I do, I suggest using a buffing brush and stipple a small amount on the face especially where large pores are abundant. It can double up as a mattifier too. I love how it instantly perfects, polishes and refines my skin. Just be gentle in dabbing the brush on the face and you're good to go!

I love you, Hylamide!

OUTFIT / Transition

You know it's summer when you start to get sweaty in areas that were dry. Dampness. Everywhere. You find yourself blotting every 2 hours and the dread of wanting to go to the shower transpires. On a brighter side, it's more fun to work out. You see sweat right away. You feel the metabolism working if that's even possible. The breeze starts to reek of sea salt and sand and algae. Then one by one you begin to shed away from layers of clothing that you considered as blanket. But I hate summer. If only I have a permission to negate it.

SHOES / Height helps

platform derby / Wittner

I may have never achieved my dream height but I've learned to be acquainted with heels and platforms. One of my first purchases from Australia's most stylish shoe label is these very handsome derby. I try not to use them everyday because a white shoes is as fragile as a white paper.  A small dot or stain can taint its purity. But I always always always look forward in wearing them. Plus the lovely height gives me that unexplainable euphoria.

Update: I'm so lucky to be part of Wittner's growing brand as a fashion consultant. Working in the store is always an inspiring day. So you will see more Wittner shoes in the blog.

LIFE / Other side

There's so many things to explore. So many things to be curious about. I think everytime we step outside our home , we literally step out of our comfort zones and that's the first step among the plethora of things to do. We drove for 2 hours on our day off 2 weeks ago( whew! felt like ages ago!) . Mondays are our Sundays and we didn't plan this trip! We just drove and stop over to see country houses and apple bearing trees and the immense fields and greens. That day was different. As if the world was drawn by a different painter. So good to always step back and stop... and see. Inspirations will always be around.

ACCESSORIES / Space + Time

Planisphere Watch / Uncommon Goods

Travel, time , directions , navigation. Those are my waterloos. I've never touched a car's steering wheel until this year.  Also, I've only come to realize the value of travelling this year when we went to the U.S.A. When you are raised believing that living in your comfort zone is a way of contentment, you become oblivious as you go along life. Now I think that comfort zone is the enemy of contentment. So when i saw this watch from Uncommon Goods, I was so intrigued! It's a compass + watch in one. It's impossible to get lost in this little town of ours but it's something that I'm keen to use on our next exploration. The watch is unique . Something that most people would skip versus the regular 2-handed wristwatch but I like unique. I like weird. More weird ( and useful) things here!

OUTFIT / Biker Upgrade

Biker jacket / Zara
Biker pants / ASOS

I always feel naked without a jacket on. I am not myself if I fail to at least wear a light cardigan or a bomber jacket. It completes my anatomy. At least, that's what I thought. I feel so good wearing ashoes with heels again! It's been a while. I have been out there wearing 5 inch and up- heels  like they're my regular Crocs but I kind of tamed down a bit because of certain things ( ageing, mood, scenario , change in body built) so now I've resorted to low heels and so my love for it was rekindled. I think if someone appreciates style, he sees past the gender and age and all those demographics that hinder fluidity and creativity. You don't see that man as someone who is wearing heels and you start to question and scratch your head but instead,  you see his power and style and entity. I hope a lot would welcome novelty and ideas. Besides, man in heels isn't such a new thing after all.

ACCESSORIES / Stainless Storage

Stainless wallet /   Theo Stewart

/ This is yet another one of  the nouveaux treasures I've found at Uncommon Goods. I have to admit, I am not one of those who keeps everything in their trusty wallet. Call myself unorganised but I'd rather not keep all the important stuff in one place in fear that it might get stolen or lost. So when I saw this model which is a novelty of innovation, I knew I had to get it. It's not actually a steel wallet but the resemblance of the PU textile to a stainless steel is uncanny. I love the woven detail that creates that chainlink effect. It's very Margiela!!! Do you know how he creates a perfect mundane article and make it artisanal and peculiar. It is just a simple bi-fold wallet with slots that you can put your cards with. Plus, this stainless steel wallet blocks unauthorized transmission from RFID enabled credit cards & IDs. Nothing clandestine and complicated in the design , just a cool update of the regular men's wallet. I love it!
