MASC Autumn Winter 2013/ Shadowbox

I have this high penchant for the structured, either formed or shapeless. The idea of enveloping the body, which I think is the best sculpture beyond compare, with another crafted second skin is indeed a moment. MASC's team was kind enough to send me their A/W 2012 lookbook including their moodboards, sketches which were too inspiring for the eyes! MASC is a London-based RTW line that has a bright promising future. Included in the annual showcase of new designers entitled BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS spearheaded by Selfridges in 2012 .

For their A/W 2013 collection , designers Duncan Shaw and Belinda Yick went eastward. Their inspiration was condensed by the 1960's tailoring done in Hongkong. Sharp tailoring coded with Rich hues and neutrals created a highly visual impact. According to the designers, this season marks a cohesive progression with their outerwears. Personally, outerwears are the present and future. With their high regard of quality and vision, there is a bright future with MASC.

Born from the idea of equipping the human form
elegance and chic minimalism,

Designers Duncan Shaw and Belinda Yick translate
notions of concealment, Japanese simplicity and
mask-like mystery into draped and structured
women’s wear silhouettes. Beholding a dark and
engaging identity, the label delivers a silently
powerful presence, both effortless and disarming.
