Forgive me but this is untimely. Like singing a Christmas Carol under the summer sun. But you see, nothing can gauge my excitement the moment I opened another package from a good friend. It's a Liviana Conti parka coat. A hybrid of a raincoat + long monastic coat ala Damir Doma. The cherry on top isn't the purple color but rather the oversize plastic snap... I don't usually plan what clothes to wear for the rainy season but allow me to do so. Now I know how it feels when those girls get so giddy over a mink coat or a green gargantuan parka.
The coat is an insulator. It's highly padded almost like a pillow. The coat when buttoned is reminiscent of Comme des Garcon's FW 2010- Inside Decoration or her intriguing Lump and Bump collection in 1997
Though it's not calculated to overload a silhouette, it can be a bit overwhelming for someone who is used with wearing light fabrics of cotton and rayon. I'm not a fan of denim and wool , so imagine the surprise when I was embraced by the coat.
